Hardie’s heroics crown Zalmi PSL 11 Champions in front of record crowd

Peshawar Zalmi clinched the Pakistan Super League (PSL) title with a commanding five-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final at Gaddafi Stadium, lifting their second PSL trophy after 2017.

All-rounder Aaron Hardie delivered a match-winning performance, claiming four wickets for 27 to bowl Hyderabad out for 129 before anchoring the chase with a composed unbeaten 56 off 39 balls, earning Player of the Final honours.

A record-breaking crowd of 32,461 fans packed the stadium, marking the highest attendance in PSL history, as Zalmi chased down the target with 28 balls to spare despite an early collapse that saw Babar Azam dismissed for a duck.

Hardie rebuilt the innings alongside Abdul Samad, who struck a crucial 48, adding 85 runs for the fifth wicket to turn the game decisively in Zalmi’s favour.

Earlier, Hyderabad struggled after a strong powerplay, collapsing from 71-2 to 73-6, with only Saim Ayub offering resistance with a fighting 54 as Zalmi’s bowlers dominated proceedings.

With this victory, Peshawar Zalmi capped off a stellar campaign, while captain Babar Azam finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, underlining his consistency throughout PSL 11.
