Pakistan sealed a commanding 3-0 ODI series sweep over Zimbabwe with a convincing 9-wicket victory at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday (9). The win lifted Pakistan to second place in the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29 standings with eight points from six matches.
Openers Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza once again dominated proceedings with a stunning 220-run opening stand while chasing 223. Gull remained unbeaten on 106 from 92 balls, smashing 16 fours, while Sadaf narrowly missed a century after scoring 90 from 98 deliveries with 13 boundaries.
The partnership became Pakistan Women’s second-highest stand for any wicket in ODIs and marked the duo’s third consecutive 150-plus opening partnership of the series. Their combined 571 runs across the three-match series is now the highest aggregate by any opening pair in a bilateral women’s ODI series.
Gull continued her record-breaking run by becoming only the second Pakistan women’s batter to score back-to-back ODI centuries, breaking her own national record for the fastest ODI hundred after reaching three figures in just 83 balls. Sadaf meanwhile became the first Pakistan Women’s batter to record 50-plus scores in five consecutive ODI innings and finished as the series’ leading run-scorer with 289 runs, earning the Player of the Series award.
Earlier, Zimbabwe posted 222 for nine after choosing to bat, with Beloved Biza top-scoring with 73 and Kelis Ndhlovu adding 51. Tasmia Rubab led Pakistan’s bowling attack with three wickets, while Ayesha Zafar claimed two economical scalps. Both teams will now meet in a three-match T20I series beginning on 12 May in Karachi.
