WPL 2026: Harmanpreet, Mandhana, Rodrigues retained; Healy, Lanning, Deepti released ahead of mega auction

According to reports, several top names are set for major reshuffles ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction, with India’s Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Shafali Verma among those retained by their respective franchises.

Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning, New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr, and India’s Deepti Sharma — the World Cup Player of the Tournament — have reportedly been released and will enter the auction pool later this month.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have each retained five players, the maximum allowed, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru have retained four, Gujarat Giants two, and UP Warriorz just one.

The auction, expected to be held on November 27 in Delhi, will see teams operate with purses ranging from INR 5.75 crore to INR 14.5 crore, depending on their retention choices. Franchises will also be able to use Right-to-Match (RTM) cards for the first time, adding an extra tactical twist to the 2026 WPL auction.
