South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt has climbed to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, surpassing India’s Smriti Mandhana, following her record-breaking performance at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.
Wolvaardt amassed 571 runs, the most ever in a single World Cup, including centuries in both the semi-final and final. Her dominant form pushed her to 814 rating points, just ahead of Mandhana’s 811.
Despite leading the charts through most of the tournament, Mandhana’s modest scores in the knockout stages saw her slip to second. India’s Jemimah Rodrigues also broke into the top 10, climbing to No. 10 after her unbeaten 127 in the semi-final win over Australia.
Among bowlers, Marizanne Kapp surged to No. 2 after her five-wicket haul against England, while Deepti Sharma, the Player of the Tournament, moved to fourth among allrounders. Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, and Kim Garth also gained significant ground in the updated rankings.
