BCCI announces ₹51 Crore reward for India Women’s World Cup Champions

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of ₹51 crore for the players, coaching staff, and selectors following India’s historic triumph at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

In addition to the BCCI’s reward, the team will receive USD 4.48 million (around ₹40 crore) as prize money from the ICC. BCCI president Mithun Manhas lauded the team’s resilience and unity, calling the victory “a testament to India’s world-class women’s programme.”

India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, led by Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul and Shafali Verma’s blistering 87. It marked India’s first-ever senior women’s World Cup title after finishing runners-up in 2005 and 2017.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia praised the collective effort behind the win, crediting the coaching staff and state associations for their role in India’s rise. The champion team is set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on November 5 before returning to domestic action in the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy.
