Jannik Sinner powered into the Paris Masters semi-finals with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 win over American Ben Shelton, moving one step closer to regaining the world number one ranking.
The Italian capitalized on Carlos Alcaraz’s early exit and now just needs to lift the trophy in Paris to reclaim the top spot. Sinner dominated from the baseline, breaking Shelton twice and wrapping up the match in just 70 minutes for his seventh straight win over the American.
Sinner dropped serve in the middle of the second set but quickly regained control to close out the victory with authority. Making the semi-finals in Paris marks another milestone in what has been a remarkable season for the Australian Open and Wimbledon champion.
Up next, Sinner faces defending champion Alexander Zverev, who edged Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) in a thriller. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will meet in the other semi-final.
