- West Indies secure first T20I series win after seven defeats
- Hope and Athanaze shine with the bat; Shepherd and Hosein key with the ball
West Indies sealed an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a 14-run victory in Chattogram.
Shai Hope (55) and Alick Athanaze (52) powered West Indies to 149 for 9, recovering from a mid-innings collapse that saw them lose eight wickets for just 43 runs.
Bangladesh’s chase was kept in check by Romario Shepherd (3-29) and Akeal Hosein (3-22), who exploited the dew-affected conditions to defend the modest total.
Tanzid Hasan starred for the hosts with 61, but wickets at crucial moments left Bangladesh falling short on a good batting pitch.
The final T20I of the series will be played on Friday, October 31.
