Charlie Dean and Melie Kerr headline the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings update after strong performances in the opening ODI between England and New Zealand.
Dean, who captained England in their dramatic one-wicket victory in Durham, was named Player of the Match after scoring an unbeaten 31 and claiming 2 for 34. The all-rounder climbed six places to 10th in the ODI bowling rankings and also moved up to 11th among ODI all-rounders.
New Zealand batters Maddy Green and Melie Kerr also made significant gains after their 105-run partnership in the series opener. Green rose two spots to seventh in the ODI batting rankings after scoring 88, while Kerr jumped four places to 11th following her half-century.
England’s Maia Bouchier climbed 11 positions to 51st after her crucial fifty, while White Ferns pacer Rosemary Mair advanced 12 places to 34th in the ODI bowling rankings after a three-wicket haul.
Players from Pakistan also enjoyed major gains after their 3-0 ODI series sweep over Zimbabwe in Karachi.
Sadaf Shamas jumped 24 places to equal 48th in the batting rankings, while Gull Feroza surged into the top 100 at 75th after her excellent series. Aliya Riaz also improved to 54th.
Among the bowlers, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana moved up to 23rd, while spinner Rameen Shamim climbed 12 places to 41st.
Despite Zimbabwe’s series defeat, Kelis Ndhlovu and Beloved Biza also made progress in the ODI batting rankings after solid performances during the tour.
