Scotland name squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

Scotland have announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, marking the nation’s second consecutive appearance at the global tournament.

Experienced all-rounder Kathryn Bryce will captain the side once again as Scotland aim to improve on their showing from the 2024 edition. Head coach Craig Wallace said selecting the final squad was challenging due to the growing depth in Scottish women’s cricket.

Scotland Squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup: Kathryn Bryce (C), Chloe Abel, Olivia Bell, Sarah Bryce, Darcey Carter, Priyanaz Chatterji, Gabriella Fontenla, Katherine Fraser, Kirstie Gordon, Ailsa Lister, Maisie Maceira, Abtaha Maqsood, Megan McColl, Rachel Slater, Pippa Sproul.

Scotland are boosted by the return of spinner Kirstie Gordon, who previously represented England. Wallace described Gordon as a world-class player capable of raising standards within the squad.

The squad also includes promising youngsters from the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025, including Gabriella Fontenla, Pippa Sproul and uncapped pacer Maisie Maceira.

Scotland qualified for the tournament through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier after key Super Six victories over Ireland and United States. As part of their preparations, they will host a tri-series in Edinburgh featuring Bangladesh and Netherlands before heading into the World Cup.
