Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) kept their IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 9-run (DLS) victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a rain-shortened 19-overs-a-side clash at the Ekana Stadium.
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh produced one of the finest innings of the season, hammering a breathtaking 111 off just 56 deliveries to power LSG to 209. Marsh reached his century in only 49 balls, the fastest hundred in franchise history, while skipper Rishabh Pant added late fireworks with an unbeaten 32 from 10 balls.
RCB’s chase suffered an early collapse after young pacer Prince Yadav bowled a stunning delivery to dismiss Virat Kohli for a duck. Despite a counterattack from Rajat Patidar, who blasted a rapid half-century, Prince returned to remove both Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma in a game-changing spell.
Shahbaz Ahmed also made a strong impact for LSG with crucial wickets of Patidar and Tim David during the death overs. RCB needed 20 from the final over, but spinner Digvesh Rathi held his nerve to seal the win as LSG finally snapped their six-match losing streak.
