Amelia Kerr stars as New Zealand complete 3-0 ODI sweep

Amelia Kerr delivered a sensational all-round performance to guide the New Zealand to a commanding 200-run victory over the Zimbabwe in the third ODI in Dunedin, sealing a 3-0 series sweep.

Leading from the front as captain, Kerr scored a brilliant 80 before producing a stunning spell of 5/22, including a remarkable hat-trick, as Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 103 in response to New Zealand’s imposing total of 303/6.

Earlier, Maddy Green powered the innings with a superb 94 off 73 balls while Brooke Halliday added 40 to support Kerr’s anchoring knock.

Zimbabwe’s chase never gained momentum despite a fighting 34 from Loreen Tshuma, as the Kiwi bowlers maintained constant pressure.

Kerr’s hat-trick dismantled the lower order and capped off a memorable outing, earning her both Player of the Match and Player of the Series honours after finishing the series with 140 runs and 16 wickets.

New Zealand will next host the South Africa in a home series featuring five T20Is and three ODIs starting March 15.
