Nensi Patel, Jess Kerr lead New Zealand to Series sweep over Zimbabwe

New Zealand made light work of Zimbabwe in the final T20I of the series, running out ten-wicket victors in Hamilton on Sunday. Zimbabwe were restricted to just 64 for 9 before the visitors completed the chase in only 5.4 overs without losing a wicket.

Jess Kerr and Nensi Patel starred with the ball, dismantling the Zimbabwean top order early. Kerr struck first in the third over, removing Kelis Ndhlovu, while Modester Mupachikwa was run out next ball. Patel then picked up Beloved Biza, leaving Zimbabwe reeling at 10 for 6 by the seventh over. Both bowlers finished with impressive figures—Patel 3 for 8, Kerr 2 for 6.

Zimbabwe managed a small recovery through Adel Zimunu and Audrey Mazvishaya, adding 42 runs for the eighth wicket to reach a modest 64. Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green contributed a wicket each, and Rosemary Mair was economical, conceding just three runs in three overs.

The chase was routine for New Zealand. Isabella Gaze remained unbeaten on 38 from 20 balls, while Izzy Sharp added 18 not out in 14 balls, taking New Zealand past the target in emphatic fashion.

The two sides now turn their attention to a three-match ODI series scheduled in Dunedin on March 5, 8, and 11, where New Zealand will aim to continue their dominant run.
