Healy’s fairy-tale 158 powers Australia to massive ODI win over India

Alyssa Healy produced a spectacular farewell to ODI cricket, smashing 158 off 98 balls while Beth Mooney added an unbeaten 106 to propel Australia to a commanding 409 for 7 against India in Hobart.

India’s bowlers were repeatedly flayed as Australia posted one of their highest ODI totals, with Georgia Voll contributing a quickfire 62 in a 104-run partnership with Healy. Shree Charani conceded over 100 runs, becoming just the third Indian woman to do so in ODIs, highlighting the dominance of the hosts.

Chasing 410, India struggled from the start. Jemimah Rodrigues top-scored with 42, while Sneh Rana’s 44 was the only bright spot. Alana King starred with the ball, taking 4 for 33 as India were bowled out for 224, handing Australia a 185-run victory.

Healy’s innings was filled with milestones: she became just the sixth woman and second Australian to score two 150+ scores in ODIs, the second-fastest to reach 150 off 95 balls, and joined Johmari Logtenberg as only the second woman to hit a century in her final ODI. Despite battling a calf issue, she showcased a stunning array of strokes, including 27 fours and two sixes.

The win secured a 3-0 ODI series sweep over the reigning world champions, giving Australia an 8-4 lead in the multi-format series. With just the Perth Test remaining, India can now only aim to draw the series, while Healy’s remarkable farewell will be remembered as one of the most dominant ODI innings in women’s cricket history.
