India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur etched her name into the history books, becoming the most-capped international player in women’s cricket with her 356th appearance for India.
The landmark outing pushed her past Suzie Bates’s long-standing tally of 355 matches, placing the Indian captain alone at the summit of the global charts and reinforcing her status as one of the modern era’s most enduring leaders.
Since debuting in 2009, Kaur has featured in six Tests, 161 ODIs and 189 T20Is, amassing more than 8,000 international runs across formats and spearheading India’s rise on the world stage, including their historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup triumph last year.
Head coach Amol Muzumdar hailed her longevity and impact, calling her “a special player for India,” while Kaur herself described the record as a proud moment and vowed to keep contributing to the team.
Although she top-scored with 36 in the T20I, Australia clinched a 19-run win to level the series, setting up a high-stakes decider in Adelaide, where India’s record-breaking captain will once again carry the spotlight.
