West Indies have named a strong 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, announcing a balanced unit that blends power-hitting, all-round options, and pace-bowling firepower. The two-time champions will be led by Shai Hope, who returns to the squad after missing the recent T20I series against Afghanistan.
The squad features the comeback of key experienced players including Roston Chase, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd, reinforcing the team’s depth and versatility ahead of the tournament.
The Windies will look to iron out their recent inconsistencies after losing the three-match T20I series 2-1 to Afghanistan. As a final preparation, they will face South Africa in a warm-up series before heading into the World Cup.
Placed in Group C, West Indies will face England, Nepal, Italy and Scotland, with their campaign opening against Scotland on February 7 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The team will hope to rediscover the form that once made them the most feared T20 side in the world, as they chase a third T20 World Cup title.
West Indies squad: Shai Hope (C), Shimron Hetmyer, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Quentin Sampson, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd
