A stunning 163 from Ayaan Misbah powered UAE Under-19s to a commanding 78-run win over Malaysia Under-19s, keeping their semi-final hopes alive in the Asia Cup.
In a match reduced to 47 overs due to a wet outfield, Misbah dominated UAE’s total of 298 for 7, receiving limited support with only Muhammad Rayan’s 48 alongside him. He stitched together key partnerships of 87 with captain Yayin Kiran Rai (44) and 98 for the second wicket with Rayan, laying the foundation for a big score.
Misbah’s innings was a tale of patience and explosion. He crawled to 43 off his first 77 balls before shifting gears dramatically, smashing 120 runs off his next 76 deliveries, finishing with nine fours and seven sixes. UAE stumbled late, losing four wickets for 15 runs in the final overs, with Muhammad Akram claiming three wickets for Malaysia.
Malaysia never truly threatened the chase of 299. Muhammad Aalif top-scored with 54, but the visitors lacked partnerships, managing just 220 for 9 in reply. Muhammad Bazil Asim led UAE’s bowling with 3 for 28, while steady pressure ensured Malaysia were shut out long before the finish.
UAE now face a must-win clash against Pakistan, knowing victory will seal their place in the semi-finals.
