All-round brilliance from Kanishk Chouhan propelled India Under-19s to a commanding 90-run win over Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup. Chouhan starred with both bat and ball, taking 3 wickets and scoring a quick 46 off 46 balls, earning the Player-of-the-Match award.
India posted 240 in a rain-reduced 49-over contest, with Aaron George smashing 85 off 88 balls and helping forge a crucial 60-run partnership with Abhigyan Kundu. Pakistan’s bowlers struck early, but Chouhan’s lower-order assault lifted India to a defendable total.
In reply, Pakistan’s chase collapsed under relentless Indian bowling. Deepesh Devendran led the attack, claiming 3 for 16 to reduce Pakistan to 30 for 4 by the 14th over. Only Huzaifa Ahsan offered resistance with 70 off 83 balls, while Chouhan removed him and two others to finish the innings at 150.
India’s dominant performance underlined their strength and balance in the tournament, with contributions coming from both the top order and the bowling unit. The comprehensive win not only boosted their net run rate but also sent a strong message to the other contenders as India continued their impressive run in the Under-19 Asia Cup.
