Sri Lankan racing sensation Yevan David hands Euroformula Open trophies to Sports Minister

Sri Lanka celebrated a groundbreaking moment in motorsport as Yevan David handed over his trophies from the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship to Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, on behalf of the nation.

By winning the Rookie Championship and finishing second overall, Yevan became the first Sri Lankan to achieve such a feat in the international racing arena, bringing pride and recognition to the country.

Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage praised Yevan’s exceptional performance and reaffirmed the Government’s support for nurturing young sports talent in Sri Lanka.

Looking forward, Yevan is preparing for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 series, becoming the first Sri Lankan to compete at this elite level of global motorsport.
