Indian pacer Mohit Sharma has officially retired from all forms of cricket, concluding a career that spanned over a decade and included 34 international appearances and 120 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
The 37-year-old Haryana speedster represented India in 26 ODIs and 8 T20Is, taking 31 ODI wickets and 6 T20I wickets. He made his international debut in 2013 and played in the 2015 ODI World Cup, earning recognition as a dependable death-overs bowler.
In the IPL, Mohit was a mainstay for franchises including Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Titans. He featured in three IPL finals and finished the 2023 season as GT’s second-highest wicket-taker, just behind Mohammed Shami. Over his career, he claimed 134 wickets from 120 IPL matches.
Mohit took to Instagram to thank his mentors, teammates, and the Haryana Cricket Association, reflecting on a journey that began in domestic cricket and reached the international stage. His last competitive game came for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings earlier this year.
With retirement, Mohit Sharma leaves behind a legacy of precise pace bowling and consistent performances, both in Indian colors and the IPL, marking the end of an era for a celebrated Indian pacer.
