Pakistan to Tour Sri Lanka for three T20Is ahead of 2026 World Cup

Pakistan will kick off their preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup with a three-match T20I series in Sri Lanka next January. All matches will be held at Dambulla on January 7, 9, and 11.

The series, led by Salman Agha, marks Pakistan’s first white-ball assignment of the year and is designed to provide the team with valuable match practice ahead of the global event, with all World Cup fixtures also taking place in Sri Lanka.

Over the past six months, Pakistan have maintained a packed T20I schedule, featuring series against Bangladesh, West Indies, South Africa, and multiple tri-series, losing only the away series in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup final to India.

Sri Lanka recently completed a three-week tour of Pakistan, playing three ODIs and a tri-series alongside Zimbabwe, setting the stage for competitive matchups in January.

Following the Dambulla series, Pakistan will host Australia for three T20Is at home before returning to Sri Lanka for the World Cup, where they are placed in Group A alongside India, Namibia, Netherlands, and the United States.
