- SLC collaborates with Government to support displaced communities

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), under the leadership of President Shammi Silva and the Executive Committee, has actively joined Government-led relief efforts following the recent extreme weather conditions that caused widespread flooding across the country.
The R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo was opened last Friday to accommodate displaced residents, with SLC administrative staff working alongside Government officials to ensure smooth operations at the center.
In addition to shelter support, SLC has initiated a daily meal distribution programme, providing food packets to Government relief centers to aid affected communities. The program began on Saturday and continues to support those in need.
SLC officials, including Honorary President Shammi Silva and Honorary Treasurer Sujeeva Godaliyadda, met with Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Sunil Kumara Gamage and other authorities to offer full support for ongoing relief operations.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka National Team observed a minute of silence on Saturday (29) before the Tri-Series T20I final in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, to honor victims of the floods, joined in solidarity by the Pakistan players.
