Perth Scorchers survived a tense final-over thriller to defeat Adelaide Strikers by just one run in Perth, sealing their third win of the season in dramatic fashion.
Strikers needed 13 off the last over with only one wicket remaining, and Darcie Brown nearly pulled off the impossible before top-edging a sweep off the penultimate ball. Beth Mooney and Megan Schutt almost collided under the catch, but Mooney held on to secure the victory.
Sophie Devine starred once again, becoming only the third player in WBBL history to cross 4000 runs as she anchored Scorchers with an unbeaten 49. Scholfield supported with a crucial 46*.
Earlier, Scorchers ripped through Strikers with a stunning Power Surge, taking 4 for 6 in two overs — including a team hat-trick in Amy Edgar’s spell. Edgar finished with an outstanding 4 for 25, while Laura Wolvaardt (41) and Madeline Penna (36) led the scoring for Strikers.
