Ripon Mondol stars as Bangladesh A win thrilling super over against India A

Bangladesh A held their nerve in a nail-biting semi-final against India A, winning in a Super Over after both sides were tied at 194 for 6 in Doha, Qatar. Ripon Mondol was the hero with the ball, claiming crucial wickets and keeping the pressure on India A in the final overs.

India A had looked set thanks to a flurry from Vaibhav Suryavanshi (38 off 15) and steady contributions from Priyansh Arya (44) and Jitesh Sharma (33). However, a late collapse and a string of fielding errors allowed Bangladesh A to force a Super Over, giving Mondol the stage to shine.

Bangladesh’s innings was anchored by Habibur Rahman (65) and SM Meherob (48*), with Meherob smashing four sixes in a blistering penultimate over to set the target. Despite a brief wobble from the middle order, Bangladesh A kept themselves in the hunt thanks to timely partnerships and smart running between the wickets.

In the Super Over, Mondol produced a pinpoint yorker to bowl India A out for just a single run, ensuring a dramatic victory for Bangladesh A. India A’s campaign ends in disappointment after earlier defeats to Pakistan A and a close call against Oman.

Bangladesh A now advance to the final of the Rising Stars Asia Cup, setting up a showdown after a semi-final filled with twists, drama, and high-pressure moments that highlighted the young talents on both sides.
