Rain and cloudy skies in Nelson forced an early end to the fourth T20I between New Zealand and West Indies, with just 39 balls played. New Zealand, who had won the toss and asked the visitors to bat, remained 2-1 up in the five-match series as a result.
West Indies reached 38 for 1 in the brief period of play, with Alick Athanaze scoring 21 and Amir Jangoo unbeaten on 12. James Neesham claimed Athanaze’s wicket, while Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy bowled tightly in the overhead conditions.
Two weather interruptions, including a 30-minute delay, halted play just five overs into the match. With conditions not improving, the game was ultimately called off.
The final T20I will be played in Dunedin on Thursday, giving West Indies one last opportunity to level the series.
