Matt Henry returns for West Indies ODIs; Tickner retains his spot

Matt Henry makes his return to New Zealand’s ODI squad for the three-match series against West Indies, beginning November 16 at Hagley Oval. The pacer, who missed the latter part of the England series due to a calf strain, is back after completing a targeted rehab and conditioning program.

Blair Tickner, who impressed as an injury replacement during the England series with eight wickets in two games, retains his place in the squad despite Kyle Jamieson’s return to fitness. Head coach Rob Walter praised Tickner’s consistency and confirmed Henry’s vital role as the senior pace leader.

Captain Mitchell Santner will lead the spin department alongside Michael Bracewell and Rachin Ravindra, while injuries continue to sideline key players including Finn Allen, Lockie Ferguson, and Glenn Phillips. Kane Williamson, recovering from a groin injury, has been rested to focus on the upcoming Test series starting December 2.

The Kiwis will look to extend their impressive run of ten consecutive home ODI series wins, while the ongoing T20I series between the two sides remains level at 1-1.
