Trent Rockets have appointed former Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read as head coach of their women’s team ahead of the 2026 Hundred season.
Read, who served as assistant coach under Jon Lewis, steps into the top role after Lewis’ departure following the 2025 campaign. He will be joined by former Nottinghamshire seamer Luke Fletcher as assistant coach.
A Nottinghamshire legend with over 700 appearances, Read’s coaching journey has already seen success with Lancashire Women, guiding them to two trophies this year. He recently signed a two-year extension with Lancashire, which will run alongside his Rockets duties.
The Rockets enter a new era with fresh investment from Cain International and Ares Management, who now hold a 49% stake in the franchise. Read said he’s eager to “deliver success” at a ground where he has “unbelievably special memories.”
