Hamstring injury rules Prasidh out of the series finale as Anshul Kamboj receives his first ODI call-up
India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the third and final ODI against West Indies in New Chandigarh after suffering a hamstring injury during the second match in Guwahati.
India have already secured the three-match series 2-0, with the final ODI serving as the series finale.
Prasidh bowled only five overs in Guwahati, conceding 45 runs and dismissing Keacy Carty before leaving the field in the 31st over of the West Indies innings.
He has since returned to Bengaluru and could also be a doubt for the opening round of the Ranji Trophy, which begins on October 11.
Kamboj Earns First ODI Call-Up
Anshul Kamboj has been called up as Prasidh’s replacement after being withdrawn from the ongoing India A four-day series against Australia A in Puducherry.
Kamboj had taken three wickets in Australia’s first innings of the second match but bowled only two overs in the second innings before leaving the India A squad to join the senior team.
The 24-year-old is yet to make his ODI debut but has impressive List A numbers, claiming 56 wickets at an average of 22.41 in 35 matches.
His only senior international appearance came in Test cricket during India’s tour of England last year.
India Manage Crowded Schedule

India have been distributing their leading players across different squads amid a packed international calendar.
Jasprit Bumrah, for example, is currently part of India’s Asian Games campaign in Japan, while the ODI squad against West Indies includes Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, Gurnoor Brar and Kamboj among the available pace options.
The third ODI will give Kamboj an opportunity to make his international debut if selected in the XI.
Dhir Replaces Washington in T20I Squad
India have also made a change to their squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies, with Naman Dhir replacing Washington Sundar.
The BCCI said the decision was taken with India’s upcoming Test series against New Zealand in mind. With the Ranji Trophy season beginning on October 11, Washington will have an opportunity to play domestic red-ball cricket and prepare for the Test series.
Dhir, who made his ODI debut in the ongoing series against West Indies, has received his maiden T20I call-up.
He has not yet batted in the first two ODIs and has gone wicketless, while India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Busy Schedule Ahead

Washington, who is also part of India’s Asian Games squad, could return to domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy opener against Rajasthan, subject to selection.
India’s schedule remains packed, with the team set to tour New Zealand for five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests, beginning on October 22.
For now, attention turns to New Chandigarh, where India will look to complete a clean sweep against West Indies without Prasidh Krishna.
