Rashid’s 4-for powers Gujarat Titans to dominant win over Rajasthan Royals

Gujarat Titans (GT) stormed to second place in the IPL 2026 points table with a commanding 77-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur, registering their fourth consecutive win of the season.

Half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan laid the foundation for Gujarat’s imposing 229 for four. The opening pair added 118 runs in a dominant stand, with Sudharsan scoring 55 and Gill anchoring the innings before late fireworks from Rahul Tewatia and Washington Sundar propelled GT to their highest IPL total outside Ahmedabad.

In reply, Rajasthan looked threatening early thanks to explosive knocks from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel, but Rashid Khan completely turned the game around. The Afghan spinner ripped through the middle order with figures of 4 for 33, dismissing Jurel, Donovan Ferreira, Harsh Dubey and Ravindra Jadeja in a match-winning spell.

GT’s pace attack also made key contributions, with Kagiso Rabada claiming two wickets and Jason Holder cleaning up the tail. Rajasthan eventually crumbled under pressure as Gujarat completed one of their most dominant wins of the campaign.

The victory continues Gujarat Titans’ late-season surge toward the playoffs, while Rajasthan Royals suffered their third defeat in four matches, leaving their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
