Pakistan name squad for Zimbabwe T20Is as World Cup prep continues

Pakistan have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, scheduled in Karachi from May 12 to 15, with captain Fatima Sana retaining leadership as preparations intensify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Squad: Fatima Sana (C), Amber Kainat, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Saira Jabeen, Tasmia Rubab and Tuba Hassan. Reserves: Diana Baig, Momina Riasat, Sadaf Shamas, Sidra Amin and Syeda Aroob Shah

The squad features two uncapped players in Amber Kainat and Saira Jabeen, reflecting Pakistan’s push to test emerging talent ahead of major tournaments. Experienced players such as Muneeba Ali, Aliya Riaz, and Sadia Iqbal also feature as the team continues its build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starting in June.

Accordingly, key performers Sidra Amin and Sadaf Shamas have been named among the reserves despite strong recent ODI form, underlining the competitive nature of selection as Pakistan balance experience and youth.

Series schedule:

  • First T20I: May 12
  • Second T20I: May 14
  • Third T20I: May 15
