India booked their spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals with a thrilling win over the West Indies in the final Super 8 fixture.
Chasing 196 after the Windies posted a strong total batting first, India reached their target with five wickets in hand and four balls to spare, knocking out the two-time champions and setting up a repeat semi-final clash against England, mirroring the 2024 encounter. The second semi-final will be played on March 5 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
South Africa, having topped Group 1 unbeaten, will face New Zealand, who secured their semi-final berth after the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Super 8 result in Kandy. Their clash is scheduled for March 4 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The winners of both semi-finals will meet in the summit clash on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, promising a high-stakes finale to the tournament.
With both the Windies and India needing a win to progress, the contest delivered edge-of-the-seat cricket, while England and South Africa had already cemented their top positions in Groups 2 and 1 respectively, rounding off the Super 8 stage with all semi-finalists confirmed.
