The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for the victorious India team following their triumph at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
India secured the title in dominant fashion, defeating the New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (8).
Batting first, India posted a massive 255/5 with half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan before Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the New Zealand chase with brilliant figures of 4/15.
In a statement, the BCCI congratulated the players, support staff and selectors, praising the team for achieving a historic milestone in Indian cricket.
The victory marked India’s third T20 World Cup title, making them the first team to win the tournament three times and the first to successfully defend the trophy, while also becoming the first side to win the competition on home soil.
