Bangladesh have unveiled an expanded central contracts list for the 2026 season, rewarding 28 men’s players in a significant increase from last year’s 22 as the board looks to strengthen depth across formats.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, previously the sole A+ player, has moved down to Grade A after an Achilles injury ruled him out of Test cricket in 2025, though he remained effective in white-ball formats with 32 wickets across ODIs and T20Is.
Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim has shifted to Grade B following his ODI retirement, while consistent domestic and international displays earned promotions for Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Rishad Hossain and Mahedi Hasan.
Tanzid topped Bangladesh’s T20I run charts last season, while Rishad emerged as the side’s leading wicket-taker in both ODIs and T20Is, signalling a clear shift toward rewarding impact performers as Bangladesh build for a crucial 2026 calendar.
