Pakistan have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, set to be played in Dhaka from March 11 to 15.
Former captain Babar Azam has been left out of the squad after a disappointing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign where he scored just 91 runs in four matches.
His struggles also extended to ODI cricket in 2025, where the top-order batter managed 544 runs in 17 innings at an average of 34.
Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead the side, with the squad featuring six uncapped players as Pakistan look to build momentum ahead of next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain have all received their maiden ODI call-ups.
Farhan earned his place following a historic T20 World Cup campaign where he scored 383 runs, the highest by a player in a single men’s tournament.
Four of the uncapped players – Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Saad Masood and Shamyl Hussain – were also part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that recently faced England Lions in Abu Dhabi.
The squad also includes experienced names such as Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Ali Agha and Abrar Ahmed.
