Pakistan’s rising star Saim Ayub has climbed back to the summit of the ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder rankings following a strong start to the T20 World Cup.
Ayub leapfrogged Sikandar Raza after his decisive three-wicket spell against India in Colombo, reclaiming the No.1 position in what has become one of the closest battles on the rankings table.
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai also surged upward, sharing fourth place following consistent all-round contributions.
The batting charts saw movement too, with Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka jumping to third after a stunning century against Australia in Kandy, while India’s Abhishek Sharma held firm at No.1 despite patchy form and Ishan Kishan rocketed 17 places to eighth.
Among bowlers, Afghanistan ace Rashid Khan edged closer to the top, now second behind India’s Varun Chakravarthy, while notable gains also came for Brad Evans, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Ireland’s Matthew Humphreys as the global leaderboard tightened ahead of the tournament’s decisive stages.
