WPL 2026 set for January 9 to February 5 across Navi Mumbai and Vadodara

  • Fourth edition to run in a new January–February window
  • DY Patil Stadium to host opener; final in Vadodara
  • First mega auction with RTM cards held in Delhi

WPL 2026 will run from January 9 to February 5 next year, marking the first time the league shifts to a January–February window. League chairman Jayesh George confirmed the dates at the start of the WPL mega auction in Delhi on Thursday.

The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, fresh from hosting India’s triumphant Women’s ODI World Cup final, will stage the opening leg of the tournament. The action will then move to the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, where the 2026 final will be played on February 5.

This fourth season also marks the first-ever WPL mega auction featuring right-to-match cards for all five teams. Mumbai Indians enter as defending champions, having won two of the three seasons so far, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted the trophy in 2024 and Delhi Capitals have finished runners-up in every edition to date.

With the league avoiding clashes with major international fixtures for the first time, WPL 2026 offers a clean window before India’s all-format tour of Australia, starting February 15.
