Stand-in skipper Georgia Wareham produced another all-round masterclass as the Melbourne Renegades defeated Sydney Thunder by four wickets at Junction Oval, making it two wins in a row in the WBBL.
After taking 2 for 25 to restrict Thunder to 148 for 7, Wareham guided her side home with a brilliant58 off just 32 balls. Nicole Faltum’s steady 37 off 26 helped steer the chase after Renegades slipped to 73 for 5.
Earlier, Georgia Voll and Tahlia Wilson gave Thunder a strong start before Wareham’s leg spin triggered a middle-order collapse. Despite late fireworks from Heather Knight and Anika Learoyd, the total proved insufficient as Faltum sealed the win with 11 balls to spare.
