Tom Moody set to join Lucknow Super Giants as Global Director of Cricket

Tom Moody is set to take over as the global director of cricket for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), expanding his leadership across their franchises in the IPL, SA20, and the Hundred. The experienced Australian will work alongside head coach Justin Langer and newly appointed strategic advisor Kane Williamson.

Moody, one of the most respected names in modern coaching, has enjoyed success across formats and leagues. He led Oval Invincibles to their third consecutive Hundred title earlier this year and guided Desert Vipers to ILT20 finals in 2023 and 2025. His appointment marks a major move for LSG, owned by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, as they look to rebuild after finishing seventh in IPL 2025.

The 60-year-old returns to the IPL after his successful spells with Sunrisers Hyderabad, including a championship win in 2016. At LSG, Moody replaces former India pacer Zaheer Khan, whose one-year stint ended in September.

With Langer, Williamson, and now Moody forming a strong leadership core, Lucknow aim to revive their playoff ambitions and build a globally integrated cricket setup across their franchise network.
