Vaibhav Suryavanshi lit up the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 with a breathtaking 144 off 42 balls, powering India A to a crushing win over UAE in their tournament opener. His century off just 32 balls made him the joint-second fastest Indian to a men’s T20 hundred, and at just 14 years and 232 days, he became the youngest man ever to score a hundred for a national representative side.
Dropped first ball, Suryavanshi punished UAE with 11 fours and 15 sixes, producing the fourth-highest individual T20 score by an Indian and the joint-fifth fastest T20 hundred worldwide. The knock followed his 35-ball IPL century for Rajasthan Royals last season, further cementing his status as the brightest young hitter in world cricket.
Speaking after the innings, Suryavanshi credited his father’s discipline for keeping him focused and said he felt no pressure despite the growing spotlight. “It’s just my natural game… after going to the ground, nothing else comes to mind,” he said.
India A posted 297 for 4 – the joint fifth-highest total in men’s T20s – with captain Jitesh Sharma smashing 83* off 32. UAE managed only 149 for 7 in reply, as left-arm quick Gurjapneet Singh grabbed 3 for 18 to seal a 148-run victory.
