SLC urges players to stay in Pakistan despite safety concerns

Several national team members requested to return home from Pakistan citing safety fears.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that some players currently touring Pakistan have expressed a desire to return home due to safety concerns.

The board said it has taken immediate steps to address these concerns in coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and relevant authorities to ensure the touring party’s safety.

SLC instructed all players, support staff, and team management to continue the tour as planned. However, it stated that replacements will be sent if any member chooses to return, and a formal review will be conducted regarding their actions once the tour concludes.
