Bangladesh have recalled allrounder Mohammad Saifuddin and handed a chance to Mahidul Islam Ankon for the first two T20Is against Ireland, while Taskin Ahmed misses out due to franchise commitments.
Taskin, currently playing in the Abu Dhabi T10, was unavailable for selection, with chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain confirming the pacer has an active NOC. Shamim Hossain has also been dropped after featuring in the West Indies series last month.
Saifuddin returns after featuring in the Afghanistan T20Is in Sharjah, while Ankon — capped in Tests and ODIs — is set for his maiden opportunity in the shortest format. The selectors indicated they want to test Ankon in the top four.
The three-match series will be played in Chattogram on November 27, 29, and December 2.
