Peter Moores is set to be appointed as the new men’s head coach of the Trent Rockets for the 2026 Hundred season, following Andy Flower’s departure to London Spirit. Moores, currently Nottinghamshire’s head coach, emerged as the frontrunner after strong competition from Andrew Flintoff and Stephen Fleming.
The Rockets, now under joint ownership between private equity firms Cain and Ares and host county Nottinghamshire, will see Moores continue his dual role after recently signing a three-year extension with Notts. The franchise also confirmed Chris Read as head coach of the women’s side earlier this week.
Moores brings extensive coaching experience, having worked with Melbourne Stars, Karachi Kings, and England’s national side. He also served as Flower’s assistant during the Rockets’ 2025 campaign, which ended with a runner-up finish. Adam Voges, a former Nottinghamshire player and current coach of Western Australia and Perth Scorchers, is in advanced talks to join as his assistant.
With Flower (London Spirit), Mike Hussey (Welsh Fire), Shane Bond (Birmingham Phoenix), and Daniel Vettori (Sunrisers Leeds) already confirmed for 2026, the Hundred’s coaching lineup is rapidly taking shape. Justin Langer is tipped for Manchester Originals, while Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave are yet to finalise their appointments.
