Kane Williamson returns to Durban’s Super Giants for SA20 2025-26

Kane Williamson is set to make a return to Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) for the upcoming SA20 2025-26 season, replacing Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam, who will miss the tournament.

Williamson, who was DSG’s top scorer last season with 233 runs at an average of 46.60, had been surprisingly released despite his strong showing. His return marks another chapter in his expanding franchise cricket journey, which includes advisory duties for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL and recent stints in The Hundred and Vitality Blast.

The New Zealand great, who recently retired from T20 internationals, will reunite with teammates like Noor Ahmad, Sunil Narine, and Jos Buttler as DSG aim to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign. The new SA20 season kicks off on December 26, with DSG opening against MI Cape Town.
