Seales and Hope dominate as West Indies go 1-0 up in Chattogram

The West Indies opened their T20I series in style, defeating Bangladesh by 16 runs in Chattogram to take a 1-0 lead. The visitors posted 165 for 3 before bundling out the hosts for 149 in a match defined by disciplined bowling and explosive late hitting.

Captain Shai Hope led from the front with an unbeaten 46 off 28 balls, combining with Rovman Powell (44)* in a blistering 83-run stand. Their onslaught in the final overs turned the game around, smashing 51 runs in the last three overs.

With the ball, Jayden Seales (3-32), Jason Holder (3-31), and Akeal Hosein (2-19) dismantled Bangladesh’s chase early. The hosts crumbled to 42 for 4 in the powerplay and never recovered, despite a brief resistance from Tanzim Hasan (33).

A clinical all-round performance gives West Indies momentum ahead of the second T20I — and a warning shot to the Tigers.
