Barcelona confirmed that midfielder Pedri has been diagnosed with a tear in the distal biceps femoris muscle of his left thigh.
According to the reports, the 22-year-old is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks, forcing him to miss three upcoming LaLiga matches and Spain’s World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey in November.
Pedri’s injury deepens Barcelona’s ongoing crisis, with 12 first-team players already sidelined this season, including stars like Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, Raphinha, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Dani Olmo.
Despite the setbacks, Barcelona sits second in LaLiga with 22 points, five behind leaders Real Madrid.
