Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Delhi Capitals (DC), chasing down 156 with ease after a disciplined bowling display set the tone.
After opting to bowl on a sluggish surface, CSK’s spin duo of Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad controlled proceedings, restricting Delhi to 155-7 with tight, impactful spells.
Despite a late surge from Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs, who added 65 runs for the sixth wicket, Delhi struggled for momentum after early wickets, including key dismissals of KL Rahul and Axar Patel.
In reply, Sanju Samson delivered a masterclass, scoring a fluent unbeaten 87 off 52 balls, accelerating brilliantly after a cautious start to guide CSK home with 15 balls to spare.
He was well supported by Kartik Sharma, who added a composed 41*, as the duo ensured a smooth chase on a pitch that eased under lights.
The victory highlighted CSK’s remarkable turnaround with the ball, as their bowlers continued a strong run of form heading into the crucial final phase of the tournament.
