Khaka firepower and Wolvaardt calm seal series as South Africa outclass Pakistan

South Africa clinched the T20I series in style, cruising to a six-wicket win over Pakistan in a rain-shortened clash at Benoni to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.

After a competitive opener, Pakistan never found rhythm in the 14-overs-a-side contest, limping to just 100 for 9 as South Africa’s bowlers squeezed relentlessly through the middle.

Ayabonga Khaka ripped through the batting with a superb 3 for 10 in two overs, while Masabata Klaas backed her up with 2 for 14 and Nonkululeko Mlaba kept the pressure on with a miserly spell.

Only Aliya Riaz showed resistance with 20, as Pakistan struggled for momentum and boundaries against disciplined lines and sharp fielding.

The chase was clinical, with Tazmin Brits providing early impetus before captain Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with an unbeaten 40, guiding the hosts home with composure despite a brief middle-order wobble.

South Africa crossed the target with four balls to spare, underlining their dominance and sealing the series with authority ahead of the final dead rubber on Monday (16).
