Saudi Arabia to host inaugural Women’s World T20 Challenge

  • First professional women’s cricket event in Saudi Arabia
  • Five-year partnership with FairBreak to develop talent and international collaboration

Saudi Cricket and FairBreak have announced a five-year partnership to host the Women’s World T20 Challenge in Saudi Arabia, beginning in 2026. The tournament will be the first professional women’s cricket event in the country and feature players from more than 35 nations.

FairBreak, founded in 2013 to promote gender equality in sport, has previously hosted the FairBreak Global Invitational T20 in Dubai (2022) and Hong Kong (2023), with international stars such as Chamari Athapaththu, Sophie Ecclestone, and Marizanne Kapp. The new tournament aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to develop women’s cricket talent through structured training programs, raise public awareness, and inspire the next generation of players.

The event will also boost Saudi Arabia’s presence in global cricket. Following the 2024 IPL auction in Jeddah and the country’s support for a new T20 circuit, the Women’s World T20 Challenge positions Saudi Arabia as a growing hub for international cricket competitions.
