South Africa have recalled fast bowler Anrich Nortje for the T20I series in India, marking his first international appearance since the 2024 T20 World Cup final. The speedster recently returned from a stress-fracture setback and impressed for Dolphins in the T20 Challenge, where he already sits inside the top ten wicket-takers.
The ODI squad sees Temba Bavuma return as captain, while Tristan Stubbs misses out and Rubin Hermann keeps his place after debuting against Pakistan. Nortje, however, has not been included for the ODI leg of the tour.
In the T20I setup, Quinton de Kock’s comeback pushes Ryan Rickelton out of the squad, despite de Kock’s mixed recent form. With Reeza Hendricks also returning, Lhuan-de Pretorius misses out, but Donovan Ferreira retains his spot, and Dewald Brevis returns from a minor muscle injury.
Veteran finisher David Miller also re-enters the T20I squad, continuing South Africa’s push towards next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The ODIs will be played on November 30, December 3 and 6, followed by five T20Is from December 9 to 19.
