Sadia Iqbal reclaims No.1 T20I Bowling Crown in ICC Rankings surge

Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal has climbed back to the summit of the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, regaining the No.1 position for bowlers after a standout series against South Africa.

The left-arm spinner shared the top wicket-taking honours with five scalps and sealed her rise with a match-winning 3 for 18 in the Benoni finale, leapfrogging Annabel Sutherland and Deepti Sharma to reclaim the crown she last held in late 2024.

Pakistan’s celebrations didn’t stop there, as captain Fatima Sana rocketed up 31 places in the batting charts and into the top six all-rounders after smashing an unbeaten 47 and taking two key wickets, including the prized scalp of Laura Wolvaardt.

India also enjoyed a rankings boost following their opening T20I in Australia, with Renuka Singh, Arundhati Reddy and Shree Charani all climbing steadily after impressive spells.

With Pakistan’s bowlers firing and multiple Asian stars on the rise, the latest update signals a power shift in women’s T20I cricket ahead of a packed international season.
