Zimbabwe announce squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2026

  • Placed in Group B with Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman

Zimbabwe have confirmed their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March. The Chevrons earned their place with a flawless campaign in the Africa Qualifier, where they went undefeated to lift the trophy on home soil in Harare.

Sikandar Raza will lead the side, aiming to guide Zimbabwe beyond the group stage after missing out on qualification for the 2024 edition. The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and in-form performers, with Brian Bennett spearheading the top order following a prolific showing in the qualifiers. Veteran Brendan Taylor returns to add depth, experience, and leadership to the batting line-up.

Zimbabwe’s bowling attack is led by Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava, providing pace upfront, while Graeme Cremer adds spin variation to the attack. The combination of youth and experience is aimed at ensuring competitiveness against strong Group B opponents, including Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman.

The Chevrons will look to build on the momentum from their Africa Qualifier triumph and make a strong impression on the global stage, as they prepare for a challenging T20 World Cup campaign in South Asia.
